General Perspective:
The Salesforce UX Designer is responsible for defining and delivering intuitive, accessible, and consistent user experiences across the Salesforce platform (Lightning Experience and, when applicable, Experience Cloud). This role prioritizes SLDS patterns and declarative capabilities, proposing customization only when it provides clear, demonstrable value.
Essential Job Functions:
- latform-Centered Design: Leverage SLDS, Dynamic Forms, Lightning App Builder, In-App Guidance, and Screen Flows before recommending custom development.
- User Research: Plan and conduct usability studies, synthesizing findings into actionable design decisions.
- Accessible Design: Ensure accessibility across desktop and mobile (contrast, focus order, keyboard navigation, error messaging)
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Admins, Developers, and Business Analysts to ensure feasibility, performance, security, and maintainability.
- UX Documentation: Produce clear specifications aligned with SLDS components and participate in design reviews and governance.
- Data-Driven Iteration: Instrument adoption and usability metrics post-launch and apply iterative improvements.
- DevOps Integration: Coordinate UX efforts within ALM/DevOps workflows (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Notion).
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Active Salesforce Certified User Experience (UX) Designer credential.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional UX design experience in enterprise software or business systems.
- Proven experience in planning and conducting user research and usability testing, with a focus on iterative design improvements.
- Hands-on experience coordinating UX efforts within ALM/DevOps workflows (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Notion).
- Familiarity with Experience Cloud architecture and portal use cases.
- Demonstrated ability to track and analyze adoption and usability metrics post-launch (e.g., dashboards, support signal reviews).
- Portfolio showcasing Salesforce-relevant work with measurable outcomes (e.g., record pages, console experiences, Screen Flows, portals).
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Figma (mandatory), with working knowledge of Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.
- Expertise in applying accessibility and inclusive design principles for both web and Salesforce mobile platforms.
- Ability to produce clear and professional UX documentation for developer handoff.
- Mastery of Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) patterns and sound judgment in leveraging declarative features over custom development.
- Working knowledge of Lightning Web Components for feasibility and scoping purposes (coding not required).
Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of Salesforce UX design principles and platform capabilities.
- Solid grasp of user-centered design methodologies and their application in enterprise environments.
- Awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.
- Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Familiarity with emerging UI/UX trends and technologies relevant to Salesforce and enterprise platforms.
Work Environment:
- The employee will work while seated at their workstation for extended hours in an air-conditioned office.
- The role involves using electronic tools such as a laptop, monitor, mouse, and other necessary equipment.
- This position requires frequent visual interaction with screens, extensive reading and writing tasks, and both verbal and non-verbal communication.
